Our New Pantry Thursday, Aug 13 2009

Since our fridge is now in the place where the original pantry was, we turned an old coat closet in the breakfast room into our new pantry!

Not awesome.

It is SO nice to have this done!

Some Kitchen Renovation! Thursday, Aug 13 2009

Three + July 4ths later and Dad is finally doing some more work in the kitchen!
Our kitchen was SO icky!
So far, we’ve taken up 3 layers of linoleum floor and had the hardwood refinished.
New appliances.
New lower cabinets (although, some still need to be built).
New upper cabinet doors and hardware.
New wall color.

One cool idea Dad had was to take out the existing pantry (the one filled with slugs, mice, and squirrels) and create an area for the fridge.

You can see why we couldn’t resist this charming kitchen.

Screen Door Thursday, Aug 13 2009

Did you miss us? Sorry we’ve not been our regular blogging selves. We’ll try and pick up the pace again, especially since Daddy has been doing lots more projects lately.

One project Dad did for us this spring, was to put a much needed screen door off of the kitchen mudroom area.
Now we can fry bacon and chicken and it won’t smell like a fast food place because we can open the door!
Dad and Ariel were out flea marketing one weekend on the side of the highway some men were giving away free ugly chairs…so they pulled over (not for the free ugly chairs) because they had a screen door for sale.
The door happened to be the right size and in great condition (with original brass hardware to match our house!).
Dad got it for a mere $10!
